The Arcade Fire surprised everyone with a last-minute show at London’s Hackney Empire. Warming up for UK summer festival appearances at Reading and Leeds, the band were on top form and, of course, their ABM rig sounded amazing.

We caught up with our old friend and long-time Ashdown fan Nick Seymour when Crowded House arrived in the UK recently. Nick fell in love with the new Ashdown Valve Series amps and it was great to see a pair of BTA400s with 810 cabs behind Nick at the band's Hammersmith show.

Just days after hooking up with Foos bass player Nate Mendel in LA, we were at the Forum watching him with Seattle band Sunny Day Real Estate. Formed in the 1990s, the band have been a big influence on a lot of people, none more so than our good friends Biffy Clyro who graciously performed a surprise acoustic opening set.

Happy 50th birthday to Ashdown main-man Mark Gooday who celebrated the event by 'getting away from it all' for a few days in Vegas with his wife Jane. He actually got about 2 blocks down the strip before meeting U2 cover band The Joshua Tree and bassist Scott Jones with his ABM900 rig. Fortunately there's nothing Jane loves more than listening to Mark talking bass!

Twin Atlantic took to the stage last week at London's Borderline and received a great reception from the the sold out crowd. Thanks to Biffy Clyro for a great night at the NME Awards where the boys walked away with a gong for Best Video. The band were joined on stage by Marina from Marina and The Diamonds for a cracking version of ‘Many Of Horror’. Top night!
